Our Approach to Standards Mapping

BrainQuake develops its materials to reflect how math is actually used in the real world to solve real problems. Very few, if any, interesting or important math problems in the real world are solved by using only one standard or by only using one standard at a time. By using BrainQuake’s tools in small doses consistently during the school year, students will simultaneously develop their proficiency across multiple standards while reinforcing lower-grade standards and gaining exposure to standards that may be a number of grade levels above them. In addition (pardon the pun!), BrainQuake also maps to the Standards of Mathematical Practice, which describe what the use of powerful mathematical thinking looks like.
